Grenadier Oktoberfest Trails
Chicken Corners • Rated 2 - Goose Gear
The route travels the Colorado River Canyon just below Moab, follows a spectacular part of Kane Springs Canyon, climbs the Kane Creek anticline to Hurrah Pass, and descends to benches above the Colorado River. The trail dead-ends at Chicken Corners about 400 feet above the river across from Dead Horse Point.
Gemini Bridges • Rated 2 - RRE Global/Black Sheep Innovations
The trail covers a region between US Highway 191 and SR 313, reaches some grand vistas, and accesses numerous other trails. The highlight is the spectacular twin arch, called Gemini Bridges, on the rim of an arm of Bull Canyon.
Shafer Trail • Rated 2 - Voyager Off-Road
The Shafer Trail is an eye dropping and heart stopping trail that is not for the faint of heart. Enjoy incredible views of the Colorado River, Thelma and Louise Point, and the La Sal Mountains. If you're afraid of heights and roads near cliffs you will want to look elsewhere.
Geyser Pass • Rated 2 - Overland Gear Guy
Scenic trail in the La Sal Mountains. Mount Peale can be seen from this trail, as well as parts of Canyonlands National Park and Spanish Valley. Perfect for a summer picnic day. Please note that this area may close in winter due to snow.
Buttes and Towers • Rated 3 - Agile Off-Road
This beautiful trail visits the scenic Courthouse Pasture area northwest of Moab to provide participants with a relaxing, moderate 4wheeling experience along with picturesque views and vistas of the beautiful reddish Entrada rock formations that are plentiful in this area. The La Sal Mountain peaks serve as a backdrop. There are many old trails in this area and this trip combines segments of them to create a pleasant and varied experience.
Hell Roaring Rim • Rated 3-
(This trail has been removed as part of the travel management plan for BLM)
Fallen Officers Trail • Rated 3- JC's British Service
This trail is just north of Arches National Park and overlooks the park and the Klondike Bluffs. Watch for dinosaur prints along the trail. If this trail is wet, it can be more difficult than when dry
Fins and Things • Rated 4-5- Overland Garage 4x4
Fins and Things is a one-way trail. It starts 1.9 miles from the Sand Flats Entrance Station (5 miles from downtown Moab), beside campsite ‘E-6’ in Echo Campground. For trailer parking, please park prior to this on the south side of Sand Flats Road 1.4 miles from Entrance Station. OHVs are permitted on the Sand Flats Road. The trail is marked with metal signs and white symbols painted on the slickrock surface. Due to hazardous terrain, it is recommended only for experienced drivers.
3D trail • Rated 4-5 - CA Tuned Off-Road
The 3D Trail Moab tours the vicinity of colorful Hidden Canyon and Brink Spring, exploring the canyon bottom, canyon rim, and a higher overlook of the area. The trail features a mix of sand and rocks, with some challenging hills and obstacles. The trail is suitable for stock vehicles, but some sections may require four-wheel drive and high clearance.
7 Mile Rim • Rated 4–5- Owl Outdoor
Many beautiful overlooks and interesting rock formations including Corral Canyon, Monitor and Merrimac Buttes, Determination Towers, Uranium Arch, and Courthouse Rock. The drive itself is interesting as the terrain changes from slick rock to sagebrush to wash bottom. Most of the trail is moderate with just a few difficult spots. Some stock vehicles with very high ground clearance and good articulation can manage this trail. A tough section down to Uranium Arch can be avoided by simply viewing the arch from above. One spot near Merrimac Butte tilts sideways to an extreme degree. The trail can be made much more difficult by driving optional Wipe Out Hill which requires lockers or a winch to get back up.
Hell’s Revenge–Rating 5 - Adrenaline HQ
The trail is as beautiful as it is confusing. It has a high vantage point with beautiful views of the La Sal Mountains and Grandstaff Canyon to the east and, from the overlook, the Colorado River. The area is also known for the Slickrock Bike Trail which draws avid bikers from all over the world. The biking trail, which is marked with painted white dashed lines crosses the 4-wheel trail several times. Be very careful at the crossing points. Always be courteous and friendly. There are numerous steep climbs and descents over sandstone domes and ledges. Excellent traction enables vehicles to surmount inclines of incredible steepness. Several tippy spots will test the leaning ability of most vehicles. We do not offer the following obstacles at Grenadier Oktoberfest: The Escalator, Hell’s Gate, The Staircase, and The Devil’s Hot tub. These obstacles are bypassed for safety and insurance reasons.
